The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.
Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990
"Medical research has consistently shown that many lifestyle diseases, such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes are directly caused by an engineered and manipulated food supply focused on profit instead of health. What is alarming is that most people don't even know they're consuming these foods". - Cyndi O'Meara.
To me it is a no brainer. Eat well and you will be healthy. Now I can hear you all saying, but what is eating well. One day we are told something is good for us and then the next day it causes one of the new diseases of the alphabet or it causes cancer. So everyone throws up their hands in horror and says they'll eat what they want.
50 years ago we were pretty healthy compared to what we are like now. The difference was less technology and more nature. Less untested chemicals (70,000+) and more vitamins and minerals.
We should still eat what we want, such as chocolate cake, ice-cream, cappuccino, chips, bacon, eggs butter and so on. The difference is above anything else is the QUALITY OF THE FOOD that makes up these foods. And that it fits with your blood type eating regimen.
The general trend over the last 50 years has been more on quantity, grams of this, calories of that, food portions, plate sizes and so on. It's time to stop thinking so much about the quantity and start thinking more about the QUALITY OF WHAT YOU EAT. If your food is top quality, then the body will be able to tell you intuitively about the quantity and if it does not suit you. As an "A" blood type, I get tired if I have too much wheat flour products, and sometimes a stomach ache or acidic stomach.
The body is extraordinary, it has a mechanism by which if you have the right amount of vitamins and minerals then it will not crave foods, as craving is merely the body saying you don't have enough vitamins and minerals - eat more food, but instead of eating vitamin and mineral packed food, we eat chocolates, chips and junk foods, therefore not allowing the body to get what it needs so it asks for more. A cycle begins and we eat vast quantities of wasted calorie food instead of eating good quality vitamin and mineral rich food.
